Fundamentals and technology

How many kilometres can an inspection robot cover per charge?

Depending on the model, between approx. three and ten kilometres.

For planning, however, the distance in kilometres is less useful than it appears. An inspection walk consists mainly of stopping, aligning and measuring – not of distance. A more meaningful question is how many inspection points can be processed per charge.

For dimensioning, it is therefore advisable to work through the planned inspection round in concrete terms: number of measuring points, dwell time per point, distance in between.

The limiting factor is not the distance but the energy – see How long does an inspection robot's battery last?.
