Market and manufacturers

Within a few years, the market for mobile inspection robotics has developed from a research discipline into an object of procurement. As a result it has become difficult to keep track of: models change quickly, names differ between regions, and the question of whether a particular device may be operated in Europe often cannot be answered from manufacturers' documents.

This section puts the market in order. We present manufacturers and their product lines, follow model generations and document what has actually changed between them – not what the press release claims.

This is complemented by our robot database, in which we prepare specifications so that they are comparable across manufacturers. The difference from brochure data lies in two fields: the documented state of conformity and actual availability on the European market. We record both with source and date of check.

Further topics in this section: the state of standardisation work, whose results will decide in the medium term which safety and testing requirements count as the state of the art. The development of prices and delivery times. And the shifts in market access that have become noticeable in recent months and affect which systems will remain available in Europe in the medium term.

This section is expressly aimed at manufacturers, distributors and system integrators as well. Anyone who wants to enter the European market faces the same regulatory questions as operators – only from the other side.

Starting point: Market overview of quadruped inspection robots – provider groups, what explains price differences, and a dedicated section for manufacturers and distributors.
