How much payload can a four-legged robot carry?
Industrial models typically carry 10 to 20 kilograms, compact research platforms 3 to 8 kilograms.
What matters is not the maximum value but the payload in continuous operation. A full load noticeably shortens the runtime and increases wear on the drives. For dimensioning, the planned sensors plus mounting and cabling should remain well below the maximum.
The second important question: is the payload interface open? Anyone who later wants to integrate a different camera or additional sensors needs documented mechanical and electrical interfaces.
